Handrails Installation
To install PVC handrails on your staircase, you will need some tools and materials, such as a PVC handrail kit, a drill, a saw, a level, a tape measure, a stud finder, screws, glue, and paint or stain. You can follow these steps to complete the installation:
• Find and mark the studs on the wall along your staircase using a stud finder. You will need to attach the handrail brackets to the studs for a secure installation
• Measure and cut the PVC handrail to the right length using a saw. You can use a miter saw to cut the ends at 45 degrees if you want to add mitered returns to the handrail
• Glue and nail the mitered returns to each end of the handrail if you are using them. You can also prime and paint or stain the handrail to match your decor
• Drill pilot holes on the handrail and attach the handrail brackets to it using screws. Make sure the brackets are evenly spaced and aligned with the studs
• Hold the handrail against the wall and mark the locations of the brackets on the wall. Use a level to ensure the handrail is straight and level
• Drill pilot holes on the wall and attach the brackets to the studs using screws. Make sure the screws are tight and secure
• Check the handrail for stability and adjust if needed. Enjoy your new PVC handrail!
